After crushing the peaceful pro-democracy protests, the junta government staged a pro-government rally where various individuals showed their support to the government. It has been reported, however, that the government is imposing steep fines for individuals not showing up to these rallies. As the government continues its crackdown on dissidents, the military government has been shielded largely by China and India, who continues to be a trading partner with the oppressed nation.
