The U.S. Navy reported that North Korean vessel Dai Hong Dan was under attack my pirates off of Somalia. The pirates were able to board the North Korean vessel, but the North Korean crew had stiff resistance against the perpetrators. Guided-missile destroyer USS James E. Williams assisted the situation by ordering the pirates to surrender. Two pirates have died from the clash, and five are detained in the North Korean vessel. Wounded North Korean crews are being treated in Williams. The U.S. does not have any diplomatic relations with North Korea.
